INTRICATION, das neuste Album der Video-/Photo- und Multimedia-Künstlerin TK KIM, ist entstanden aus Momentaufnahmen, heftigen zeitweiligen Aktivitäten, aus dem was nur Sekunden dauert, bevor es wieder zu Staub wird.
Augenblicke, in Ton und Bild und Wort eingeschweisst. Wo immer TK KIM hingeht, ist eine Kamera dabei, ein Audio-Recorder, ihr Überlebens-Kit. Sie filmt, sie nimmt auf… alles, was auch immer. Sie absorbiert im Automatikmodus, verarbeitet und gibt wieder.
Ans Licht kommen Text, Bilder, Ton. Getreu ihrer Philosophie „one take one shot“ … Fehler und Irrtümer sind richtig, gewollt, natürlich. Wer sich vor der Linse bewegt ist echt, aber nur einmal. Das Leben selbst ist nicht perfekt.
INTRICATION, das klanggewordene Album, ist ein Gemenge aus LoFi-Experimenten, Modularen Synthesizern, alten Drum-Machines und Gitarren. Sowie TK KIMs (und anderer Leute) Stimme darüber, darunter, dazwischen. Gesungen und gesprochen. Das ganze ergibt vielschichtigen melancholischen Pop. Etwas dunkel manchmal.
Fasziniert von Physik und Naturwissenschaften, angetan von der Theorie der quantischen Intrication, definiert sie ihr eigenes künstlerisches Atommodell.
Intrication – das Phänomen, dass z.B. ein Photon „X“ energetisch stimuliert wird, aber ein anderes Photon „Y“ die erwartete Reaktion zeigt, auch wenn es 1 Lichtjahr entfernt ist – bezieht sie auch auf Menschen. Sie wirft einen Stimulus aus wie einen Angelhaken – irgendwo reagiert ein unbekanntes Individuum… per Bild, Ton, Text.
TK KIM ist ein Photon, X, ein kreatives Elementarteil irgendwo im Universum. Und wer auch immer kann das Photon Y sein. Fühlen, reagieren, interagieren. Symmetrische Empathie in einem spiegelbildlichen Universum. Mysteriöse Kreativität durch den Äther, Kunst im Deluxe-Wahnsinn.
TK KIM tobt sich aus wie es eben geht. Blog, Ausstellungen, Filme, Kunstfilme und Videos, Performances, Live-Gigs. Damit eröffnen sich Möglichkeiten. Möglichkeiten, Y-Photonen zu stimulieren, zu finden, später kennenzulernen.
Zusammenarbeiten aufzubauen. Wer sich zur Reaktion animiert fühlt, mag reagieren. Entfernte Träume sind zukünftige Filme, Songs, Bilder.

Une vague notion de physique quantique, qui est restée bloqueé dans mon cerveau d’ex chimiste, une leçon mal comprise, et remixée à présent à mon échelle humaine…
Pour moi, cela symbolise des liens, des interactions entre des âmes, des modifications au niveau intrinsèque de nos cellules nerveuses: chacun d’entre nous se retrouve.
Différent.
Ces liens mystérieux, invisibles et pourtant bien réels, provoquent des chocs, des ondes, des passages. Ouvrent des chemins et nous éloignent des sentiers battus.
Mon album Intrication (sortie août 2014), c’est cela: une fourmillière de mots, de déclarations , de projections, de rêves, d’illusions.

Pour que l’on s’écorche nos couches protectrices
Pour que l’on se dénude de nos armures
Pour que l’on prenne le risque d’être blessés…
Parce que l’histoire de cet album est simple, j’aurai peut être un peu de mal à vous l’expliquer.
Mais, oui, il est là, quelque part sur mes disques durs, enregistré en studio (label Neopren Records) ou à la maison, entre 2013 et 2014. Car on peut tout faire. Avec rien.
Il y a une histoire, forcément. Un truc à raconter, un truc si fort que je n’arrive plus à le garder. Quand les songes se bousculent, que les mots me submergent, et qu’écrire ici, sur ce blog ne suffit plus, alors… je cherche. Ailleurs, partout, dans mes insomnies, dans celle des autres.
Car nous sommes plusieurs à résonner, en silence, ou en hurlant, chacun dans notre coin, ou tous ensemble car la décohérence, c’est notre force… Ne faire qu’un à plusieurs… Je ponds, je collabore, je farfouille et fouine jusqu’à l’apaisement momentané. Jusqu’au prochain brisement…
Dans cet album, je parle d’intrication, de photon, de communication simultanée sans aucun contact, de destins croisés, d’amitiés loupées et d’amour adulescentes. Je crois en toutes ces histories à l’eau de Rosen (Nathan Rosen), et à des vitesses bien supérieures à celle de la lumière.
A la fulgurance…
J’ai écrit, filmé, monté, n’importe quoi et n’importe comment, à l’aveugle et dans l’urgence, à la débrouille, avec un appareil photo ou un Smartphone, selon ce que j’avais sous la main… La réalité est devenue fiction ou vice versa. Je n’ai pas cherché de décors, juste utilisé les endroits où la vie me poussait… Des solitudes sont venues colludé la mienne, il y a eu partage, chaleur, confidences, confiance… Des noms greffés au mien apparaitront sur les vidéos, car finalement, cet album est l’œuvre de rencontres….
Car je crois en l’intrication quantique… Des photons indissociables…Toute modification de l’état de l’un entraînerait instantanément le changement de l’autre, même s’ils sont séparés par une distance de plusieurs millions d’années-lumière, et même si l’un n’existe plus.
Quelle soit amoureuse, amicale, indéfinissable, innommable, cette intrication, c’est vous, et moi….
Finalement, mes études de scientifiques m’auront quand même menée à cela…

Intrication/Entanglement, the latest album from multimedia artist, TK Kim, is born of the moment captured, virulent cells on a thin slide, the ephemeral that lives, burns, fades, dies, turns to dust, evidence of existence in substance. Encapsulated in sound and vision. Everywhere she travels she is armed with a camera and sound recorder, her indispensable tools. Though not to a capture a mood but rather the opposite, the collecting of fragmental debris; an image, a sound, a chance meeting, the colliding of souls. In fact, anything that emotive connects with the human heart. Within that lies the story itself. Unprepared, fabulously incongruous and unconscious. Developing a musical photograph of what cannot possibly last but has existed. Creating songs and videos that deal with subject matter such as illegal nights(?) in Berlin, solitary turmoil and isolation in New York or disillusionment and emotional collisions in Paris. Of life. A life between moments. Stuck on automatic, TK Kim absorbs, vibrates and retransmits what was experienced. Regurgitating, spewing out words of unprepared text. Remaining true to her ethos of « One shot, one take. » Any possible errors are not mistakes as she resolves, « You have to love the imperfect since life itself is imperfect. » She films, she records, everything and anything. « During the assembly process one can lie about truths. Or can believe in the lies. Everything is an illusion. » Entanglement, the sonic representation, is a confluence of lo-fi experimentation, modular synths and old drum machines, and rock oriented instruments, delicious guitar riffs and throbbing bass. With TK Kim slamming over and behind the rich layers of sonic textures producing a dark and sensuously melancholic pop. Fascinated by the field of science and dipping into quantum mechanics she builds her own model. Defining entanglement as two objects who share the same properties but separated from each other by large spatial distances she ponders on the notion of, what happens to one is « Felt », absorbed, reflected by the other. If it can happen to photons, proposes TK Kim, why not human beings? « There are unexplained and intractable things. Destinies of two bodies correlated even although they haven’t met ». Subscribing to that proposition TK Kim assumes the role of a photon, a free spirit, a creative atom in an infinite universe. And somewhere out there is a twin photon, atom B, that feels and acts, reacts to TK Kim. Symmetrical empathy in a mirrored universe. Action, reaction, cause and effect between two artists who have never met, never shared influences. Who know nothing of the lives of each other, know nothing of the practices of the other. No questions asked, no answers given. Age, personal histories remaining to a degree irrelevant. Mysterious creative exchanges across the ether, art in folie deluxe. TK Kim propels her endeavour, abundant and radiant energy and commitment, witnessed in her blog (tkkim), through exhibited works in spaces (Daniel Tanner Gallery), through films (BANG, MOCT), in performance dance (Butoh). Now the possibilities open up. Somewhere, whether it’s Moscow, Seattle, or Mars, some unknown nonspecifically targeted person receives a sense of urgency and is compelled to react. The symbiosis of atoms A and B. Though light years from each other. Distant dreams are future songs. The entanglement realised in the eponymous album will be released in two phases: Action/Reaction.
